Grow 21C to serve tens of thousands more pastors all over the world.

Steve grew up as a missionary kid in Nigeria. In college, he toured the U.S. and 30 other countries as a drummer with The Continentals, a Christian music group that featured some artists you’ve probably heard of. Among his most vivid memories is taking a small plane into Kenya, ditching luggage for a generator, and riding back to the hotel in a Jeep with an armed guard escort.

This willingness to take the Gospel into the world’s remotest places has always been with Steve – and so have his skills for organizational leadership and development. All are hallmarks of his 28-year career as a pastor. Steve has shaped ministries and missions, built teams, spearheaded capital projects, directed business operations, preached, and taught at churches in Florida, Utah, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Steve is the author of Shift: Church in the 21st Century and A Jew From Tarsus: The Life and Times of the Apostle Paul. He has also authored 21C International’s current curriculum, Comments on Ephesians. Along with his wife, Leanne, Steve is the visionary behind all 21C’s plans.

Steve received his PhD in Educational Studies from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. He also earned two master’s degrees, one in Christian Education and one in Counseling, both from the North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He and Leanne have two grown children. Their daughter teaches fifth grade, their son owns a media company, and is married to his high-school sweetheart.
