Chicago, ILJonathan is a student at Moody Bible Institute pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, with a calling to serve in global ministry and bring hope to vulnerable communities.
He was raised by a single mother in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he experienced firsthand both the challenges and resilience of life in a broken world. In 2014, he moved to Tanzania, where he became actively involved in church planting and began using storytelling as a way to share the Gospel and connect with others. Through these experiences, Jonathan developed a deep compassion for trauma survivors across both Congo and Tanzania, and a desire to be part of restoration and healing in their lives.
In response to God’s calling, Jonathan made the life-changing decision to sell his home in order to pursue his education at Moody—choosing obedience and purpose over comfort.
He was introduced to 21C International during a missions conference at Moody and sensed a clear leading to serve with their team. This summer, he will join them as an intern, gaining hands-on experience in global ministry, outreach, and fundraising. As part of this journey, he will also participate in a mission trip to Kenya and Uganda—an opportunity that will further shape his understanding of ministry on the ground and deepen his commitment to serving communities in need.
Jonathan is now raising support for this internship and his mission trip to Kenya and Uganda, trusting God to build a team of partners who share in this mission. His vision is to serve in global nonprofit work, helping develop sustainable ministries, support church planting, and bring hope to those affected by trauma.
